As a new coach, you're stepping into a vital role, shaping the early baseball experiences of young players. The Rally Cap program is designed to make baseball fun and engaging, emphasizing the fundamental skills of the game in a supportive environment. You'll have access to comprehensive resources, including equipment guidelines, field preparation tips, and detailed practice plans, ensuring you have all the tools needed to foster a positive and enriching atmosphere. Embrace this opportunity to inspire, teach, and grow alongside your team, making every pitch, hit, and run a step towards their love for the game.

While the other two teams on the field are playing their inning, the remaining Team completes the weekly skills session.

A practice plan that follows the typical progression of 4-6 years is available on the Coach's Clipboard section of the website but coaches and parent helpers can modify the Skills session based on the abilities of each player/team.

Here players are introduced to fundamental baseball skills that are taught, developed in progressive steps and implemented into future game sessions. The recommended Rally Cap drills work on one or several of these skills: physical literacy, running, throwing, catching and hitting. Rally Cap provides flexibility to the players and coaches with simple drills that can be modified to adapt to each player's development path.

Rally Cap provides a player scorecard which can be used by the coaches to track a players progression and ensure that drills used. The progress card is completed by the coach before the end of the season and provided to the player.
